Food Banks Set To Win At Utah/BYU Football Game

It’s one of the biggest rivalries in college football, but the University of Utah and Brigham Young University can agree on one thing, it’s time to get tough with hunger. For the tenth year in a row, both schools will raise food for the needy centered on their annual football game. The Utah/BYU Food Drive will run from Nov. 10, until kick-off of the big game at 1 p.m., Nov. 22.

Renowned Pianists to Perform at U of U Summerarts Piano Festival

The University of Utah SummerArts Piano Festival is an on-site camp that offers young pianists and college students master classes and competitions. This year the event will be held Aug. 6 through 9. While festival courses are structured for the 200 to 300 registered participants, special performances by festival featured artists Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi and Juana Zayas will be given for the public. Bottazzi will perform on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7:30. Juana Zayas will present on Friday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Both concerts will be held in Libby Gardner Hall on the University of Utah campus. Tickets are $5 and $3 for students and seniors. For more information on the concerts call 801-581-4062.

U of U Seniors Exhibit Art Downtown May 16-June 14

Painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and other forms of art will be exhibited and up for sale at the University of Utah’s upcoming 2003 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Art Show. Scheduled to run from May 16 through June 14, the exhibit will be held at Artspace Forum Gallery, 511 West 200 South, in downtown Salt Lake City. The show, comprised of 50 pieces and curated by Ephraim Puusemp, displays works representative of the 2003 graduating class of the University of Utah’s art program. Artspace is open Wednesday through Saturday, from noon until 5 p.m. There is no cost for admission.
