University of Utah professor nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on Federal Reserve Board of Governors

A familiar face at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business is expected to become the newest member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. Allan R. Landon, an adjunct professor at the David Eccles School of Business who has taught courses since 2011, was nominated by President Barack Obama on Tuesday to fill an open position of governor on the seven-member board.

AAAS Names Three U Faculty as Fellows

Three University of Utah faculty members were honored today for distinguished efforts to promote the uses of science by being elevated to the rank of fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general-science society and publisher of the journal Science.

U Celebrates Vets

The University of Utah will honor 11 Utah veterans, including Raymond Yoss who spent more than three years as a prisoner of war during the Korean War, at its 17th annual Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, in the ballroom in the A. Ray Olpin Union Building. The tribute includes a panel discussion, a 21-cannon salute, an awards ceremony and a concert.
