Save a Sole, Ride a Bike

Bike to the U Day is Thursday, Aug. 30 at the University of Utah and all faculty, staff and students are encouraged to cycle to campus to support the University’s commitment to bicycle commuting. Coffee and bagels will be provided from 6:00 a.m. to10:00 a.m. at several campus locations including Presidents Circle, Marriott Library Plaza, South Campus TRAX Station and the Peterson Heritage Center.

University of Utah to Patrol Marketplace for Unlicensed Merchandise

University of Utah players, and coaches are preparing for Thursday’s opening game against Northern Colorado. The match-up also marks the beginning of a season of enforcement at the U. University officials and The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG College, are taking necessary measures to address potential counterfeit and unlicensed merchandise in the Salt Lake City area. The U will continue its efforts throughout every home game of the 2012 season.

Black Student Leadership Institute Comes to the U

A group of 20 high school juniors from across the state will gather at the University of Utah June 27-30 to take part in the inaugural Black Student Leadership Institute. With the theme I Am Therefore We Are, We Are Therefore I Am, taken from an African proverb, the students will form teams to explore the current state of African-Americans in health, politics, pop culture and sociology—key issues affecting today’s Black/African American community.
