Utes Want Revenge in “Bleed Red” Blood Drive

Attention all University of Utah students, faculty, alumni and fans! Your chance to save a life and support the U is here. Not only will there be blood on the football field when the Utah Utes and the Utah State Aggies meet in Logan, a lot more blood will be banked for the community as well. The University of Utah and Utah State University will go head to head in the annual “Bleed Red” blood drive competition, Sept. 13 through 17, and will culminate Saturday, Sept. 18, on the field of Romney Stadium before the football game against USU. Last year, Utah State stole the “Bleed Red” trophy with almost double the units of blood collected by the U. This year, the University of Utah student body is determined to win back the trophy.

U moves up among America’s Best Colleges

The University of Utah ranks 111th out the more than 1,400 colleges and universities surveyed for the 2005 edition of the “America’s Best Colleges” guidebook from U.S. News & World Report. The magazine ranks schools annually based on a complicated system of peer assessments and statistical data. The U moved up seven spots, maintaining its status as a top tier institution.
