Oct. 15, 2013 – Ever wonder what it’s really like to work in Hollywood? Now is your chance to find out. Hollywood2Go comes to the University of Utah, Friday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., in the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law’s Sutherland Moot Courtroom.

Hollywood2Go offers courses across the country that deliver insider information on how movies are launched from beginning to end. The presentation at the U, titled “How the Filmmaking Business and Law Really Work,” covers the history, evolution and current structure of the motion picture business; how to protect intellectual property; how talent deals are negotiated and more.

Hollywood2Go was founded by Bob Rubin, 20-year industry veteran who has worked as an entertainment attorney, deal-maker, studio and home entertainment executive as well as executive vice president of Universal Pictures and Sony Pictures. Rubin and three additional Hollywood gurus, Jeffrey Korchek, Julie Spielberg-Senet and Roger Armstrong, will lead the presentation.

“This seminar brings a unique mix of background and experience that is sure to prove useful for lawyers interested in developing their practices around the entertainment industry, and the filmmaking activity that goes on in Utah in particular,” said Christian Johnson, law professor and associate dean for academic affairs at the College of Law.

Korchek is vice president of legal and business affairs at Mattel, Inc., the world’s largest toy company. Spielberg-Senet has been an entertainment attorney for more than 20 years and recently moved to Utah where she will begin co-teaching an entertainment law class with fellow presenter Roger Armstrong in spring 2014. Armstrong, who has spent more than 30 years in the entertainment industry, currently serves on the Motion Picture Advisory Committee for the state of Utah, on the Legislative Affairs Committee to the Sundance Film Festival Advisory Board and on the board of directors for the Salt Lake City Film Center.
