May 31, 2002 — One hundred thirty faculty members at the University of Utah School of Medicine are included in the 2001-2002 list of The Best Doctors in America®. The consumer database, compiled biannually by Best Doctors, Inc., polls tens of thousands of leading specialists throughout the country who are asked what doctors they themselves would go to for treatment in their specialty. The latest list includes 30,000 physicians in 43 specialties and more than 400 subspecialties.
The majority of the U faculty listed are on the medical staff of University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics; some hold joint medical staff appointments at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Primary Children’s Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Cottonwood Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children Intermountain, St. Mark’s Hospital and Pioneer Valley Hospital.
