Ute Fans Invited to Test their Skills and Tailgate at the Gateway

September 1, 2005 — Fans of Utah football are invited to the Olympic Legacy Plaza at the Gateway shopping center to tailgate and cheer for the Utes to beat Utah State before that interstate rivalry on Saturday, September 10. The party gets underway at 3 p.m. with a march by the University of Utah Marching Band and cheerleaders down Rio Grande Street. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Rice Eccles Stadium.

There is no better place to start game day than at the Gateway. Fans can enter a drawing for Ute football tickets, win Ute merchandise, and try their skills at the NFL Skills Challenge sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Utah. Ute boosters can expect fun, games and football-related activities, including a skills course and free McDonald’s Milk Jugs. Mark Koncar, a Utah native, Green Bay Packers first round draft pick, and former NFL player will also be on hand to discuss good childhood nutrition and proper physical activity.

The Gateway is teaming up with Star 102.7 radio to provide music and merchandise contests. Fans are encouraged to park free at The Gateway and ride TRAX to the game.
