March 18, 2005 — John W. Mauger, Ph.D., has been elected chairman of the 2005 – 2010 board of trustees at the recently concluded U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) Convention in Washington, D.C. Dr. Mauger is dean of the College of Pharmacy and professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Utah.

“I look forward to a productive and successful term,” said Dr. Mauger. “I am particularly interested in being involved with activities that advance public health on a worldwide basis.”

Members of the USP Convention elected Dr. Mauger trustee of pharmaceutical sciences on Sunday, March 13th. Following the adjournment of the USP Convention, members of the board of trustees elected Dr. Mauger chair of the board.
