Get Front Row Tickets to the 2009 Presidential Inauguration


Jan. 8, 2009 – If you can’t make the trip to D.C. for the presidential inauguration, you can still have a front row seat to the historic event here at home. The University of Utah will offer a screening of the Presidential 09 Inauguration on Jan. 20 at Kingsbury Hall, streamed live from KUED.

Reserved seating tickets are free but required and will be available beginning Jan. 8 at the Kingsbury Hall box office or by phone at 801-581-7100. Tickets are not available online.

The screening will begin at 9 a.m. MDT (presidential swearing-in at 10 a.m. MDT) and will be followed by a panel discussion entitled “A Peaceful Transition of Power: Barack Obama becomes the 44th President of the United States,” with Hinckley Institute of Politics Director Kirk Jowers and other political experts.

President-elect Barak Obama will replace outgoing President George W. Bush on Tuesday, Jan. 20. He will be sworn into office at noon EDT, becoming the 44th president of the United States.
