WHY:

The Board of Trustees of the Chicano Scholarship Fund of the University of Utah is honored to announce the presentation of ten $1,000 Chicano Scholarships, and the renewal of two full-ride Ibarra Foundation Scholarships, at the annual scholarship banquet, Friday, September 21, 2007 at the U of U Union Ballroom. The traditional banquet date was moved from May to September this year to accommodate the beginning of the school year and the opportunity for more college students to participate.

Throughout its thirty-two year history the Chicano Scholarship Fund has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund college for students who have excelled academically, conducted extensive community service, and who are closely connected to the Hispanic/Latino community.  Students from virtually every race have received and accepted Chicano Scholarships.
