The Women’s Resource Center at the University of Utah is pleased to announce ANGIE MAKOMENAW as its new violence against women coordinator. Makomenaw holds her Master of Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado in Denver and is greatly experienced in the field of domestic violence. Before joining the Women’s Resource Center, Makomenaw was the domestic violence coordinator for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian tribe of Michigan and was involved with organizations such as the Batterer Intervention Services Coalition of Michigan and the Michigan Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention Steering Committee, which created a statewide prevention plan adaptable to any cultural or geographical area.
