April 1, 2005 — The School of Music Scholarship Concert will feature a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony by the orchestra and choir students, April 8 and 9, 2004, 7:30 p.m. at Libby Gardner Hall.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. For tickets and information, contact the Kingsbury Hall Ticket Office at 581-7100.
The concert allows orchestra and choir students the opportunity to perform a major work of the classical repertoire together. Learning to perform together is an important part of the academic experience of training to become a professional musician.
Beethoven’s 9th Symphony is a particularly complicated piece, giving the students a chance to show their accomplishment and musicianship.
The concert also provides an opportunity to formally recognize supporters of the School of Music. Their contributions allow the School of Music to attract and retain a high caliber of students.
