A Grassy Trend in Human Ancestors’ Diets

Most apes eat leaves and fruits from trees and shrubs. New studies spearheaded by the University of Utah show that human ancestors expanded their menu 3.5 million years ago, adding tropical grasses and sedges to an ape-like diet and setting the stage for our modern diet of grains, grasses, and meat and dairy from grazing animals.

LGBT Collections Displayed at The U’s Marriott Library

The J. Willard Marriott Library at The University of Utah will be hosting an exhibition dedicated to the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy and support in Utah. Twin Sisters Earn Doctoral Degrees While Redefining Beauty

University of Utah doctoral candidates Lexie and Lindsay Kite have dedicated most of their college education to studying the stereotypes of beauty perpetuated by popular culture and its negative effects on women and girls. Wanting to make a difference in their area of study, the identical twin sisters launched Beauty Redefined in 2009, a campaign to help replace distorted ideals of body image with more positive concepts of beauty and wellness.
