Diverse Class of More Than 6,500 Set to Graduate From University on May 2

The University of Utah class of 2002-2003, comprised of a Rhodes Scholar and students from 43 countries, 45 U.S. states and 21 Utah counties, will march to Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance” on Friday, May 2 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Governor Mike Leavitt Proclaims April 22nd Ute Ski Team Day

Governor Mike Leavitt has proclaimed Tuesday, April 22nd Ute Ski Team Day in the state of Utah. The proclamation was issued to honor the ski team for winning the 2003 NCAA Ski Championships and in recognition of years of success on the slopes. This marks the 11th time the Ute skiers have won the national championship, preserving their tradition as one of the nation’s top collegiate skiing programs. Read More

Robots Will Ski at the U Mechanical Engineering Design Day Also to Highlight BYU Cougar Hurling

Robots built by University of Utah students will ski through a slalom course. Catapult-like devices will hurl stuffed BYU cougars across a large room. Cleanup devices will remove oil slicks and rescue eggs in tanks of water during the “Free Willy III” competition. And about 70 mechanical engineering design projects will go on display. Read More
